Geoff Phillips

Geoff Phillips was raised in Evanston, Wyoming. After graduating from Utah State University, he had a strong desire to return to the cowboy state to attend the University Of Wyoming College Of Law. Mr. Phillips has a rich family history with Wyoming and the law. He worked with his father, James E. Phillips, from 2001 until his retirement in 2020. Mr. Phillips' two brothers, and several extended family members are also Wyoming lawyers or judges. Mr. Phillips is licensed to practice law in Wyoming and Utah.

Mr. Phillips practices in a variety of areas including but not limited to: personal injury, negligence, civil litigation, criminal law, business administration, administrative law, school law, and estate planning. Mr. Phillips has obtained several six and seven figure results for clients in complex injury cases including auto accidents, medical malpractice, employment law and civil rights. Mr. Phillips has also successfully represented clients facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges in the state of Wyoming and Utah, including murder, homicide, rape, DUI, domestic violence, drug charges, theft cases, and other serious criminal offenses. Mr. Phillips currently represents Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital, Uinta County School District Number One, and Uinta County School District Number 4.

Jim Phillips

Jim Phillips received his J.D. from the University of Wyoming in 1974. From 1974 until his retirement in 2019, Jim had a long and impressive legal career in Evanston, Wyoming. Over the course of his practice, Jim represented Uinta County, the City of Evanston, the Towns of Lyman and Mountain View, the City of Green River, Sweetwater County, Western Wyoming Community College, and school districts in Evanston, Lyman, Green River, and Rawlins in personnel matters. Jim successfully represented several plaintiffs in lawsuits involving violation of civil rights arising out of wrongful terminations or denial of hospital privileges. Jim represented doctors and nurses in medical malpractice cases. He has also had a significant insurance defense practice and has been involved in multiple large construction cases. Jim served as the Chairman of the Wyoming Board of Professional Responsibility.

Jim has been recognized as an AVĀ® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest such rating available to any individual lawyer.

Jim is currently enjoying retirement by spending more time fishing and spending time with family.
